Kitchen

Gamify your kitchen

This is the debut season, where you follow the debut season and compete for your own personal best. You can drop in for unit tests after practicing in CS Classroom, or you can play start to finish as a cohesive season in preparation for CS Competition.

Build your own season

[Ms. Maz: intro for the Kitchen DIY builder — a 6-unit season of your own making. Rename the deck, write the unit briefs, then cook it at your own pace, solo or with a study group.]

The story of the season optional

[Ms. Maz: one line on the optional story field — a thread that runs through all six units, if you want one.]

Your twelve concepts

Keep the classic twelve or rename them to your own dozen. Each keeps its card color.

Your six units

Give each unit its own theme and an optional one-liner brief. The unit mechanics stay the same, so the season still builds as it goes.

How a Competition season works

Write a season, three episodes

[Ms. Maz: reality-show intro — the short, cook-with-others event where you roll for your concepts and cook a three-episode season together.]

Play along

Run the pre-set season

[Ms. Maz: play-along copy — a ready-made 3-episode season you can run with friends, family, or the Community.]

Roll With It

[Ms. Maz: reality-show rules intro — two dice and a coin set your season. No deck, no cook/burn/freeze.]

Concept die

Roll your pair

The six faces are the six antithetical pairs. One roll picks the pair your whole season explores. [Ms. Maz: reframe in your voice.]

Challenge die

Roll your inspiration

Times, Places, People, Occasions, Ingredients, Flavors — one roll sets the inspiration that runs through the season. [Ms. Maz: reframe.]

The coin

Flip for the lead

Heads or tails decides which pole of your pair leads first — or take the Host’s Table and choose. [Ms. Maz: reframe.]

[Ms. Maz: intro for the dice builder — roll the two dice and flip the coin to set your season's tension, its challenge, and which side leads. Or override any of them and set your own. Then cook a three-episode arc with others.]

Build your own season

The CS Competition runs on the same game engine as CS Kitchen, but now it's up to you to decide where the season goes! You build your game, gather up to six cooks, deal the cards, and let the competition begin.

One thread that runs through every challenge — a motif the whole season pulls on.

Each slot keeps its card color. You're invited to think in dichotomous pairs—for example, local vs. global, or comfort vs. surprise—to keep things interesting.

The structure stays the same, so the season still tightens as it goes.

Cooking Show Classroom

The CS Classroom is where you learn more about yourself as a cook and as a storyteller. Each unit takes one concept card and one brief through two lessons. Moving from novice to intermediate, you try to level-up the same dish over time. Because nobody's scoring you, it's a space for reflection and growth. When you're ready, head to the CS Kitchen to take a unit test, which helps you to prepare for the CS Competition that lies ahead.

You're not just teaching yourself to cook, you're learning how to tell your story. Because each lesson is based on a concept, the video lessons provide models of dishes that meet the brief and narratives inspired by the concept(s).
